Having had rather a blue day yesterday, I thought this week’s Listography would be just the thing to bring a smile back to my face (along with asking facebook friends to pelt me with crap jokes – the responses helped too!).
5. Singing in the car
I sing with all the acoustic delight of a cat drowning in a bucket of water which is churning in a cement mixer, and as such I never inflict my talent on others (except when blushing brides twist my arm. Erk!), but bombing down the dual carriageway on a sunny day with the volume turned way up I can make believe that I’d give Lea Michele a run for her money.
Having a constitution that would be chilly in Barbados, it is seldom that the UK manages to warm me to the marrow, but there are rare occasions when you step out the front door, the sky is blue, the sun is shining, the breeze warms the skin and you can’t help but beam from ear to ear.
3. Being Abroad
I absolutely adore travelling and there is something truly magical about being on foreign soil that makes me practically dance with delight.
2. Time with the girls
I don’t get to socialise with the girls as often as I’d like, especially as one of us now lives in Derby. When she visits we always have a Chinese night, and she and I invariably end up laughing so hard our sides hurt, just like back in our school days.
It can have been the lousiest day imaginable, and stumping through the door in the foulest mood I encounter a small dog excitedly bouncing round in circles out of pure delight to see his grouchy Mama come home. It would melt a heart of stone!
